Treats: Nutella. With a Spoon.
Right, let’s address the elephant in the room. We all eat Nutella by the spoonful. It’s not pretty, it’s not smart, but it is probably the single most satisfying thing you could ever do with a spoon and a jar. It has comforted me through times of heartbreak, worry and general feeling-sorry-for-myself. It has also, it should be noted, contributed heavily to the increasingly snug fit of my jeans.
It is also fantastic in crepes, on a sandwich, smeared over cookies, as filling for desserts, but nothing quite takes the place of a spoonful of utter chocolate decadence. And joy! It’s now available in discount supermarkets. This jar of fun was just €2.39 in Aldi. Yes, there are lots and lots of generic versions out there, and they taste very similar. But there’s no replacing the original for me and my spoon.
Does anybody have any new and innovative recipes involving this brown gold? Would love to hear from you if so!
